Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, CREST Engineering & Construction is a structural and consulting engineering firm offering support to owners, contractors, millwrights, manufacturers and other engineering companies. CREST has broad experience in bulk material handling and storage industries including feedmills, batching plants and silos. CREST has experience with many different industries and materials including cement, fly ash, grains, soybeans, aggregates and sawdust.
CREST’s capabilities include many areas around facility planning, conceptual design, structural engineering, structural inspections and jobsite observations.

Craig Thompson, SE, PE
Craig has broad experience in structural engineering including conceptual/preliminary designs, cost estimating, project engineering, construction observations and inspections. He has designed and been Structural Engineer of Record (SEOR) on projects with a combined construction value of $250+ Million. His experience includes design of slipform, jumpform and tilt-up structures, structural steel, masonry, foundations, and other heavy industrial structures. He has extensive experience performing structural inspections of slipform and jumpform structures – mainly feedmills and silos. Craig is a licensed Professional or Structural Engineer in thirty-one (31) states and maintains a NCEES Model Law Structural Engineer Record. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Penn State University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. He is a voting member of ACI 313 Committee, which produces the industry’s standard for silo design.
